A Friend for Need
Good-byes are oft given with understanding why.
To touch a soul the heart must tell,
A story of remembrance that might belie,
The painful truth of bidding farewell.
A friendship crosses boundary’s wide,
Ignoring dissention and strife.
No treasures amidst honor and pride,
Shall exist above my companion’s in life.
To look upon a spirit’s glow,
One must first give in to time.
In fate’s hand you cannot know,
How to befriend and call her mine.
Forever I am in her debt,
For her ear and her smile.
Her leaving only do I regret,
For the heaven’s gave me compassion for a while.
To trade this would be a slight indeed,
Knowing not what could transpire.
She was there to comfort the need,
To sooth the ever present fire.
The sands will speak of the future,
Flags of remembrance shall unfurl.
I say to you…heart so pure,
Goodbye my Friend…Goodbye “Little Girl.”
