J  David Photography - A Paradox...My Pearl

A Paradox…My Pearl

When you stand at the edge of the world can you see her?

I couldn’t…until the sun rose.

I laughed, so blind, darkness as it were.

I let my emotions run as the wind blows.

At that edge things are too beautiful.

The smiling at sunsets as if they were the sign.

I am, for nature’s benevolence, grateful.

Yet it’s the paradox she is that clouds my mind.

Tell me why the earth isn’t flat?  Why it turns its head and hides from you?

It lets you see the light, then takes it away.

It knows what you want and what you will do.

There will be no Joy for me today.

This search I’m on has brought me to the ocean’s end.

No stars, no moon, no answers.

I know I cannot win, but I cannot bend.

I still think I can own the treasure’s.

Amidst a maddening complexity, she will not commit.

She lives in the eye of the storm.

Solace in my soul, I will never have it.

I am so tired…so torn.

You’ve seen a pearl, I know you have.

With its swirling, breathing color.

You call it white though don’t you; it’s all you can.

You don’t see her, won’t see her…anymore.

I see her, clearly, streaks of life’s stunning lies.

I have cursed and I have fought, I have drunk the wine.

Do the Angel’s hear my cries?

Dear God…why is she mine?
