I Built the World
Standing, arms outstretched, in a barren land,
Body and soul naked to the elements.
Pleasure and pain created by hand,
Lessens in futility, the search I lament.
An agonizing nothingness pervades my life,
A void of unimaginable gray.
A piercing and pervasive strife,
Cuts blackness into the day.
Floating above a sterile globe,
Tears flowing from my eyes.
The sun gone, in clouds enrobed,
Finding destiny, my heart must try.
Cover my face to protect my soul,
Envisioning the world, my heaven be.
A birth, a reckoning the ultimate goal,
For I am lost, my eyes do not see.
No structure can exist,
To obscure the beauty in my mind.
The scent of the spirit I cannot resist,
My world, her world can I find?
My palms drip the colors of love,
A stigmata of brilliant creation.
Desire carried on wings of doves,
Sweet symphony of Angel’s ovation.
Designs of perfection dance on sunbeam,
A construct of splendor and light.
Creatures frolic in an unabashed dream,
The trodden soul ceases the fight.
Alive is the land, under a pearl white haze,
The landscape utters an exquisite sigh.
Exhausted, awash in passions gaze,
Feet again touch earth, I begin to cry.
My search ended, beauty is here,
As always, my life is led to the hilt.
I do not suffer, will not fear,
For I live in the house that Joy built.
