I Can’t Know Why
She was my Angel of Inspiration,
My passion…my Joy…my muse.
Ephemeral source of my elation.
To my explosion of emotion she was the fuse.
Her energy was boundless,
The beauty without compare.
Her doubters were soundless,
At her glorious essence they would stare.
She was love, truth and pain.
In mists of doubt she played.
A spirit behind the sunlit rain.
To the only God I know…I prayed.
To no avail my words fell down.
The heart gone cold in my chest.
Inches from shore I will drown.
Eternity in the trough I watch the crest.
She was the dream, the child in my eyes.
With my life I gave her protection.
When I turned, she was gone, to my surprise.
The reasons escaped without detection.
There are no more words to write.
I have nothing else to say.
My heart can no longer take flight.
I lost my best friend today.
