The Desperate Search For Joy
Touch an Angel’s lips,
And suffer the agony of wanting.
Look into hers eyes and realize,
It is happiness that Fate is flaunting.
A true journeyman be you,
Following the celestial glow.
Longships unfurl in emotional seas,
Her wings map the course you must go.
Don’t let her touch your soul.
Her whispers will not be clear.
Ethereal mists shroud the truth.
She cannot love you I fear.
Pay not the toll for rivers cross.
The boatsman is in league with she,
That projects her image on the shores.
Look closely…her devotion you cannot see.
I know you love her.
An adoration known only to mother and son.
Let her fly to providence,
To her you will never be the one.
Stop searching and your spirits pain will cease.
Blood of passion drips to your palms…out of your eyes it pours.
Drop your sword weary lover,
Joy cannot and will not be yours.
