J David Photography - The Window

The Window

Upon you is a window of want, not of need.

The answers shall not be there.

Your gaze affixed on a soul to be freed.

Eyes and hearts to the world are bare.

Seek not fortune through this portal of light.

A menagerie of lies it will present.

With burdened heart you will witness the blight,

Caused by the lie of beauty…She does not repent.

But a squint will bring to focus what you never knew.

There is love beyond this canvass that you so desperately stare.

A love guarded by the tortured few.

Those who never knew to care.

Stand clear my fellow soul the colors do burn.

Raise your hand to the glass not for it shall cause only pain.

None of us chosen to feel will ever truly learn,

That remembrance after love is nothing but refrain.

You need not say what you do see.

This is yours virtue or sin.

It could be a bloom on a molten orange sea,

Or a band of devils with their coquettish grins.

Furrowed brow may glimpse the wings.

Assured what you see may not be true.

Don’t stop believing in the remarkable,

For it is she inside the glass…your Angel, who is watching you.
